I am a passionate creative.

I love bold colors, impressive lighting, oil painting, progressive politics, travel, and design meant to move people.

My passions revolve around art, design, politics, and advocacy. Over fifteen campaign cycles, I’ve created thousands of unique pieces for hundreds of progressive and Democratic candidates and causes, as well as for many non-profit organizations and academic clients. My clean and modern designs are meant to be bold and effective in conveying your message.

Beyond graphic design, I am a professionally-trained studio artist and photographer who can’t help but continuously take beautiful photographs and translate them into large, brilliantly-colored oil paintings including figures or landscapes.

My Background

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Politics from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. As part of my education, I studied in Italy and in Washington DC. Following college, I spent several years traveling the country working with several Democratic campaigns for offices including US Senate and President. Seeking more stability than one gets by sleeping on sofas and living out of a suitcase, I settled down in our nation's capitol and landed an amazing opportunity at a political communications firm where I could bring together my passion for art and politics. Plus, the inherent seasonality of political campaigns has always allowed me time to refine artistic skills such as oil painting or photography.

Since 2016, Kate Connolly Studio LLC has:

  • Helped elect dozens of Democratic and progressive candidates to federal, state, and local offices!

  • Designed reports giving insights into our broken criminal justice system, astronomical prescription drug prices,
and in support of more public transit and equality.

  • Opened a headline art gallery show! And have painted and shown art in many settings in D.C. and Virginia.

  • Photographed countless happy memories, families, and celebrations of love!

  • Had a child (now an elementary school kid, almost).

  • Ran my second marathon (NYC) and is training for her next this year (Chicago).

  • Traveled and explored my own city, as well as New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, London, Paris, and many others.

I would love to bring my creative energy and drive to work with you on a successful project!
